Job summary

Vail Health Hospital in Colorado seeks a Clinic Scheduler to manage patient appointments by coordinating with patients, providers and locations. You will answer inbound calls, direct inquiries, take messages, and schedule tests or procedures using the EHR scheduling system.

Qualifications

• 2 years administration or similar experience preferred.
• Previous medical office experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA compliance and OSHA rules and regulations preferred.

The Clinic Scheduler is responsible for answering incoming phone calls, fielding questions about scheduling with providers, directing calls to appropriate parties, taking and distributing messages, and scheduling appointments. Schedules medical appointments through coordination of patients, providers, locations, payers, etc. Appropriately schedules appointments, tests and/or procedures, leveraging the electronic health record (EHR) scheduling software. Obtains patient demographics with accuracy to include but not limited to patient address information, telephone number and insurance information from the patient. Distributes faxes helps manage needed requests.
