Job summary

MercyOne Health System in Iowa is seeking a Clinic RN for the MercyOne Waterloo Heart Care clinic. The RN will provide patient care in outpatient settings, coordinate with physicians and staff, and support patient education and care planning.

Responsibilities include medication administration, documentation in EMR, and participation in quality improvement and safety initiatives within a fast-paced clinic environment.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active RN license in Iowa or compact state.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Basic computer skills and EMR documentation experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in outpatient settings and deliver safe, effective, and evidence-based care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Coordinate care provided by other clinical staff, support patient and family education, and ensure communication across healthcare teams.
• Administer medications and treatments safely via multiple routes and document accordingly.
• Maintain documentation accuracy and completeness in EMR: assessments, vitals, symptoms, treatments, medications, education, charges, lab results, histories, and consults.
• Maintain supplies, equipment, medication stock, and office machines; follow maintenance and quality control protocols.
• Recognize and respond to urgent/emergency patient needs and initiate emergency procedures.
• Other duties as needed and assigned by the manager.
