Job summary

Northfield Hospital + Clinics in Northfield, MN is seeking a Clinic Phlebotomist to collect, process, and perform clinical laboratory testing on specimens from neonatal to geriatric patients.

Under supervision, you will conduct waived and select moderate complexity tests, ensure specimen integrity, report results, perform QC, and support instrument maintenance while providing guidance to other phlebotomists.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy program graduate preferred.
• Speak, read, and write English proficiently for safe communication.
• RH/VR training in BLS (NH+C RQI program) with quarterly updates.
• Previous health-related field experience preferred.
• Good interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens and verify proper patient identification and labeling.
• Accessions and processes specimens for testing.
• Perform waived and select moderate complexity tests under supervision.
• Report patient test results per laboratory policies.
• Conduct quality control procedures and routine instrument checks.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on instruments.
• Complete clerical tasks, data entry, and documentation.
• Provide technical guidance and workflow oversight to phlebotomists.
• Adhere to Universal Precautions and infection control practices.
