Job summary

Southeast Health is hiring a Clinic Patient Access Specialist I - Per Diem in Alabama. You will interview and register patients, obtain consent and billing information, verify payer coverage, collect balances, and schedule services.

You will work with a team to ensure accurate records and timely pre-authorizations in a fast-paced hospital setting. Excellent communication and customer service are essential as you interact with patients faces-to-face or by phone.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• Prefer one year of hospital or clinic revenue cycle experience.
• Working knowledge of computers.
• Medical terminology required.

Responsibilities

• Works with a multi-disciplinary team to answer inquiries and provide information.
• Troubleshoot problems and provide guidance.
• Handle referrals and customer service interactions telephonically or in person.
• Provide scheduling or patient enrollment for services; update demographics and billing info.
• Verify third party payer coverage; collect self-pay balances.
• Schedule patients for planned clinical services and coordinate referrals.
• Obtain required signatures for billing and clinical treatment.
