Job summary

MUSC Community Physicians (MCP) seeks a first-level manager to lead certain patient care areas within Lancaster Pulmonology. You will supervise staff, coordinate staffing and daily operations, and influence strategy, budgeting, and service delivery to meet organizational goals.

Administratively, you’ll ensure clinical standards, interface with support services, and drive efficient care delivery within a professional work environment.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma and three years experience or training within specific work area; or an Associate’s degree with one year of experience; or a Bachelor's degree and six months experience.
• Experience in a medical capacity preferred.

Responsibilities

• First level management supervising one or more areas of a department.
• Supervises two or more professional and/or support staff and day-to-day activities.
• Coordinate business aspects including strategy, project management, budget planning and financial operations.
• Provide direct line management and leadership for patient care areas, interfacing with support and clinical services.

Job Description

First level management. Typically supervises one or more areas of a department. Supervises two or more professional and or support staff at work as well as their day to day activities. Typically does not have the authority to hire, fire, or promote but their input on these types of actions is highly considered. Main focus is on each employee they manage. May coordinate the business aspects of a department to include but not limited to strategy, project management, budget planning and oversight and financial operations.

Provides direct line management and leadership for all patient care areas. Ensures proper standards are followed for practice and provides interface between the support services and clinical services. Facilitates care delivery system development and operation, including but not limited to staffing and professional delivery of services. Manages daily operations of clinical and clerical employees, including staffing schedules, while maintaining an efficient and professional work atmosphere. Develops and sets goals at the process, job, and interface level to ensure optimal patient care to meet overall organizational goals.

Minimum Education and Experience:

A high school diploma and three years experience or training within specific work area; or an Associate’s degree with one year of experience; or a Bachelor's degree and six months experience. Experience in a medical capacity preferred.
