Job summary

Adventist Health Glendale is seeking a capable assistant to provide non-invasive, routine technical support under licensed physicians and nurses. You will greet visitors, perform clerical duties, collect demographics, schedule appointments and ensure accurate data entry for patient charts and billing.

Qualifications

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required
• CMA or RMA or equivalent licensure and experience preferred
• BLS certification required
• Phlebotomy certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Sets up exam rooms and checks in patients; maintains a patient recall system and processes lab/test referrals and transfers.
• Answers phone, takes messages and directs calls; admits patients and handles charts and insurance verification.
• Prepares referrals and coordinates authorizations; secures and forwards records as needed; maintains department records and reports.
• Obtains patient demographics and billing/insurance information; assists in scheduling and coordinating departmental needs.
