Overview:
Are you a passionate veterinarian with clinical experience eager to shape the next generation of veterinary professionals? The University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine seeks a Clinic Director/Lead Veterinarian for a new teaching-focused small animal clinic, funded by a philanthropic gift. This clinic will operate on the Spectrum of Care approach, training veterinary students to provide high-quality, individualized care to clients with limited financial resources. This is a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor, with salary and rank based on qualifications and experience.
As Clinic Director, you will develop and lead a team to oversee clinic operations, ensuring high standards of patient care and student education aligned with the Spectrum of Care philosophy. Your role involves mentoring students and staff, developing protocols, and collaborating with the curriculum team to integrate clinical training with educational goals.
Minimum Qualifications: DVM or equivalent, 5+ years of leadership in small animal practice, eligibility for veterinary license and USDA accreditation in Minnesota, and experience in delivering comprehensive veterinary care.
Preferred Qualifications: 5-10 years of practice, board certification, teaching experience, expertise in Spectrum of Care, and proficiency with relevant software.
The Veterinary Clinical Sciences Department provides instruction, clinical services, and research to improve animal health and veterinary education.
Salary range: $100,000-$200,000, full-time appointment, with comprehensive benefits including health plans, retirement, tuition benefits, and more.
