Rescue Mission of Roanoke Inc. operates the G. Wayne Fralin Free Clinic to provide compassionate healthcare to people experiencing homelessness and crises in Roanoke, VA.

The Clinic Coordinator/RN leads daily patient care flow and delivers direct nursing services under RN scope within the Clinic and related programs. Under Clinic leadership, you will coordinate clinical follow-ups, support paid and volunteer providers, and ensure safe, timely care while communicating effectively with the care

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license and current licensure.
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple patient-care needs in a fast-paced setting.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) and documentation.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and clinic regulations.
• Ability to engage and coordinate volunteers as part of the care team.
• Excellent communication to represent the Clinic and Mission.

The G. Wayne Fralin Free Clinic

provides compassionate healthcare to people experiencing homelessness and others in crisis through services provided within the Clinic, Rescue Mission programs, Respite Care, and Medical Street Outreach.

As a clinical leader, the Clinic Coordinator/RN serves as an integral part of the clinic team who coordinates the daily flow of patient care while providing direct nursing services within the scope of RN practice. While working under the leadership of the Clinic Manager and in collaboration with the Volunteer Medical Director, medical providers, clinic team members, and other Rescue Mission teams, they help to ensure that patients receive safe, compassionate, coordinated, and timely care. The position provides clinical direction and coordination during patient-centered care while supporting the Clinic Manager's overall responsibility for team leadership, personnel supervision, and Clinic operations.

Clinical coordination and nursing support is provided, including within the Clinic, in Rescue Mission Respite Care, and through Medical Street Outreach. Helps translate provider direction and established Clinic systems into effective daily patient care, supports paid and volunteer providers, coordinates clinical follow-up, and identifies and communicates concerns requiring additional clinical or management attention.

Hours of Availability

Full-Time with Flexible Schedule
Typically, Monday – Friday; 8a – 5p; weekends, nights & holidays as scheduled

Compensation: $21.02 - $36.77/hour (non-exempt/hourly)

Specific Qualifications, Strengths & Skillset

• Current and active Virginia Registered Nurse license
• Strong clinical assessment, critical-thinking, organizational, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple patient-care needs in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records and other clinical documentation.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, EHR
• Working knowledge of HIPPA, OSHA and healthcare clinic guidelines and regulations.
• Understanding of volunteer engagement and demonstrated ability to welcome, support, utilize, and appreciate volunteers as integral members of the care team.
• Ability to communicate the work of the Rescue Mission and Fralin Free Clinic to community groups as coordinated with Mission leadership.
