Job summary

Community Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, seeks a Clinic Coordinator to support daily operations of a busy family medicine practice. You will partner with the Senior Practice Manager to optimize workflows, coordinate staff and provider needs, and ensure a patient-centered experience across locations.

The role requires strong clinical and administrative insight, plus collaboration with departments such as HR, Billing, IT, and Imaging.

Qualifications

  • High school degree required. Associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a healthcare, clinic, or medical office setting preferred.
  • Previous experience in a lead, supervisor, coordinator, or clinic support role preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate day-to-day clinic operations to ensure efficient patient flow.
  • Identify and resolve operational issues affecting patients, providers, or staff.
  • Support implementation of clinic workflows and operational initiatives.
  • Monitor clinic operations and report improvement opportunities to the Senior Practice Manager.

Job Summary

The Clinic Coordinator supports the daily operations of a busy multi-provider family medicine practice under the direction of the Senior Practice Manager. This role serves as a key resource for providers, clinical staff, and administrative staff, helping to ensure smooth clinic operations, efficient workflows, and an exceptional patient experience. The Clinic Coordinator serves as an operational partner to the Senior Practice Manager by supporting daily clinic functions, coordinating staff and provider needs, improving workflows, and helping ensure a positive experience for both patients and employees. This role plays an important part in maintaining efficient, high-quality operations while supporting the overall success of the practice. Reports To: Senior Practice Manager

How you'll contribute

The Clinic Coordinator assists with staff scheduling, onboarding, workflow improvement, policy and procedure implementation, provider support, and coordination of clinic activities. This position requires a strong understanding of both the clinical and administrative functions of a medical practice and the ability to build collaborative relationships across departments and clinic locations.

  • Assist in coordinating the day-to-day operations of the clinic to ensure efficient patient flow and clinic functionality.
  • Identify and help resolve operational issues that impact patients, providers, or staff.
  • Support implementation of clinic workflows, processes, and operational initiatives.
  • Monitor clinic operations and communicate opportunities for improvement to the Senior Practice Manager.
  • Assist with maintaining a safe, organized, and patient-centered environment.
  • Coordinate clinical and non-clinical staffing schedules and assist with coverage planning.
  • Support onboarding and orientation of new employees.
  • Provide day-to-day support and guidance to staff regarding clinic workflows and operational processes.
  • Assist with staff training and ongoing education related to clinic procedures.
  • Partner with the Senior Practice Manager to address operational concerns, staff needs, and workflow challenges.
  • Help foster a positive, collaborative team environment.
  • Work closely with providers to support efficient clinic operations and patient access.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve provider efficiency and reduce administrative burdens.
  • Serve as a point of contact for providers regarding operational questions, concerns, and support needs.
  • Support the onboarding and integration of new providers into clinic workflows.
  • Assist in evaluating and improving clinical and administrative workflows.
  • Support efforts to improve patient access and appointment availability.
  • Address patient concerns and coordinate resolution when appropriate.
  • Promote high standards of customer service and patient-centered care throughout the clinic.
  • Assist with implementation and reinforcement of organizational policies and procedures.
  • Help educate staff regarding new workflows, processes, and operational changes.
  • Ensure operational practices align with clinic and organizational standards.
  • Assist with monitoring clinic metrics, reports, and operational goals.
  • Coordinate supply and equipment needs within the clinic.
  • Serve as a liaison between clinic staff and support departments such as Human Resources, Billing, Information Technology, Laboratory, and Imaging.
  • Participate in meetings, projects, and initiatives that support clinic operations.
  • Assist the Senior Practice Manager with special projects and operational priorities as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
