Job summary

Upland Hills Health is seeking a Clinic CMA or LPN for the Specialty Clinics – Podiatry, located at the hospital campus in Dodgeville, WI. This part-time position (0.9 FTE, 36 hours/week) runs Monday through Friday with no weekends or holidays.

Responsibilities include assisting with patient visits, exams, vitals, specimen handling, phlebotomy, and coordination of imaging and labs. EPIC experience is preferred; BLS is required and MS Office skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• , Completed a Medical Assistant Training program; preferred CMA or WI-licensed LPN.
• - BLS (Basic Life Support) is required.
• - EPIC experience preferred but not required.
• - MS Office Suite beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for visits and perform nursing procedures under supervision.
• Assist with exams and document medical history, vital signs, and visit purpose.
• Prepare laboratory specimens and perform phlebotomy if required.
• Sterilize instruments and administer medications per direction.
• E-prescribe prescriptions to pharmacies as directed.
• Schedule imaging and lab work to maintain clinic flow.
• Keep exam rooms stocked with supplies.
• Collaborate with providers and RNs for triage and appointments.
• Participate in CQI activities as needed.
• Communicate professionally with customers at all times.
• Schedule surgeries and other procedures.
• Assist with billing and coding of care and daily insurance processing.

Role & Department:

Clinic CMA/LPN working in the Specialty Clinics - Podiatry (Hospital Campus location)

Hours & Shift:

Part-time 36 hours per week (0.9 FTE), Monday through Friday, Hours can vary slightly within a 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. timeframe. No weekends or holidays.

Role Responsibilities:

• Will prepare patients for the health care visit and perform nursing procedures under supervision of the health care provider
• Assist with exams and reviews and/or records medical history; taking vital signs; confirming purpose of visit or treatment
• Preparing laboratory specimens; perform phlebotomy and basic laboratory tests if required
• Sterilizing medical instruments; administering medications, authorizing drug refills as directed
• E-prescribing prescriptions to pharmacies as directed
• Assisting patients with getting imaging tests & lab work scheduled and completed to maintain patient flow in the clinic
• Keep clinic and exam rooms stocked with adequate supplies
• Collaborate with providers and RNs for Triage and appointments
• May participate in organizational and departmental CQI activities
• Will communicate professionally and friendly with customers at all times
• Schedules surgeries and other procedures
• Assist with billing and coding of care provided and insurance processing on a daily basis
• May be required to assist in other clinics as needed

Qualifications:

• Candidates should have completed a Medical Assistant Training program, prefer those that are Certified Medical Assistants or be Licensed as a Practical Nurse in the State of Wisconsin
• Previous experience working in a medical clinic is beneficial
• BLS (Basic Life Support) is required
• Prior experience using the EPIC medical record system is preferred but not required
• Previous experience with the Microsoft Office Suite software programs is beneficial
