Job summary

Upland Hills Health is seeking a Part-time Patient Access Specialist for the Dodgeville Hospital Campus. The role supports the Patient Access Department with front-desk duties, insurance verifications, and patient admissions.

This position is day shift (.75 FTE) with weekend and holiday rotation, located on site in Dodgeville, WI. Strong communication and customer service skills are essential to greet and assist patients and visitors.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication, organizational, multitasking, and computer skills.
• Prefer one year of hospital or clinic experience.
• EPIC EMR experience is beneficial.
• Third-party insurance experience preferred.
• Ability to provide good customer service to all contacts.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient information and admit patients as applicable.
• Complete full insurance verifications.
• Receive and disperse all incoming and outgoing communications.
• Provide information and directions to the public about Upland Hills Health and the center.
• Handle incoming calls at the UHH switchboard.
• Work primarily at the Main Admissions Desk.

Position Title: Patient Access Specialist

Location: Upland Hills Health - Dodgeville Hospital Campus

Role & Department: Patient Access Specialist in the Patient Access Department

Hours & Shift: Part-time (.75 FTE) day shift position,weekend and holiday rotation

Role Responsibilities:

• Patient Access Specialists will verify all patient information and admit patients as applicable
• Will complete full insurance verifications
• Receives and disperses all incoming and outgoing communications
• Gives information and directions to the general public regarding Upland Hills Health and Upland Hills Nursing and Rehab Center
• Handles the incoming calls at the UHH switchboard
• Will work primarily at the Main Admissions Desk

Qualifications:

• Candidates must have excellent communication, organizational, multitasking and computer skills
• Prefer one year of past work experience in a hospital or clinic setting
• Prior EPIC EMR experience is very beneficial
• Third party insurance experience preferred
• Ability to work with all contacts using good customer service relation skills
