Job summary

Fairview Health Services is hiring a Clinic Check-in Coordinator for the Clinics and Surgery Center in Minneapolis. This role serves as the first point of contact for patients and families, guiding them through check-in, collecting insurance information, and directing them to waiting areas with a welcoming demeanor.

The position is full-time (80 hours every two weeks) with a Monday–Friday shift from 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM, focusing on patient-centered service and smooth front-desk operations

Qualifications

• Combination Education & Experience Post HS education or training with basic medical terminology and keyboarding skills.
• 1 year of customer service experience working with the public.

Responsibilities

• Greets and welcomes all patients and families as part of the check-in and arrival process for unparalleled experience.
• Provides information and reassurance related to any anxiety about the visit or the logistics of the day.
• Upon completion of intake work, assists the patient to the appropriate waiting area.
• Personalizes interaction and service delivery to meet guest service standards
• Monitors Care Connect information and intervenes with patient if the care team is delayed and assists the patient care team as necessary.
• Ensures that all patient pre-registration information is complete upon check in
• Ensures patients and guests have access to appropriate technology and assists them to use the devices if needed.
• Communicates effectively with all members of the care team and across departments to ensure patient care process.
• Has full responsibility for interpreter needs, visit wait coordination and monitoring, co-pay collection, and patient privacy protection during check-in.
• Anticipates patient and guest needs, offers options for increased comfort, answers requests for directions, phone numbers, personal services, transportation, etc.
