Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a climbing arborist to trim and remove trees, assess health and safety hazards, and work on-site in Houston, TX. You will join a safety-focused team and use climbing systems to prune, remove, and protect trees, while maintaining equipment and supporting crew members.

Qualifications

• Outdoor work required and safety-conscious.
• At least 1 year of tree climbing experience.
• CDL preferred license.
• Background in forestry, horticulture, landscaping, or heights work.
• Complete Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Complete Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred: pesticide licenses if required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Operate as an active crew member with ground crew and crew leader.
• Perform pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
• Include pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the canopy; install cables, bracing and lightning protection; remove hazardous trees.
• Maintain, prepare and operate tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers and aerial lifts.
