Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a Climbing Arborist for our Mashpee, MA operations. The role focuses on pruning, removal, and tree health work performed from ground and elevated systems, with on-site safety as a priority.

You’ll use DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS climbing methods, work with a crew, and contribute to service quality for residential and commercial clients. Training and advancement opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred pesticides licenses and certificates per state law.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Work as part of a crew with ground staff and crew leader.
• Perform pruning and removal safely and skillfully for clients.
• Prune, thin, remove deadwood; install cables/bracing and lightning protection.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment including chainsaws and chippers.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and crew leader.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
• Including but not limited to:
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems
• Removal of hazardous trees
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.
