Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a dynamic Climbing Arborist to join our outdoor tree care team in Mashpee, MA. Your office is the outdoors, and you’ll work with a crew to prune and remove trees safely and effectively.

You’ll climb using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS systems, operate ground-support roles, and maintain equipment such as chainsaws and aerial lifts. This role offers opportunities for growth and advancement within a large, employee-owned company.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors and willingness to work outside.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred pesticide licenses and certificates as required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using Davey climbing systems.
• Work as part of a crew with ground crew and crew leader.

Position Overview

Trim and remove trees, remove unwanted, diseased or dying limbs on trees, or to affect the health and safety of trees or surrounding areas by performing the following duties

Compensation

$30 - $32 (Based on experience)

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and crew leader.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
• Including but not limited to:
  • Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
  • Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems
  • Removal of hazardous trees
  • Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.
