Job summary

Idaho Department of Health & Welfare in Lewiston is filling the Client Services Technician role. The CST will supervise court-ordered visitations, transport children to visits and appointments, and perform related safety and caregiving tasks in a hands-on welfare setting.

The position requires lifting up to 50 pounds, strong safety awareness, and reliable documentation of visits and progress. Applicants must meet minimum qualifications and be prepared for a drug test and background check.

Qualifications

  • Good knowledge of home sanitation and safety.
  • Experience working with clients who may be behaviorally, socially, physically and/or mentally challenged.
  • Experience observing and recording clients' behaviors, treatment responses, and progress.
  • Ability to read and write English.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic.
  • Experience using ordinary home appliances and performing routine homemaking tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise court-ordered visitations between children in care and parents/guardians.
  • Transport children to and from visits and appointments.
  • Perform physical work such as lifting and carrying children, car seats, and boxes.
  • Ensure safety and proper installation of car seats and compliance with federal standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the system for court-ordered visits.

The Division of Youth Safety & Permanency is recruiting for a Client Services Technician (CST). Do you have personal or professional experience within or in support of programs serving youth and families and/or the child welfare team? This position is perfect for individuals who want to be a part of a team that is protecting the safety and welfare of Idaho’s children. Client Services Technicians supervise court-ordered visitations between children in the Department’s care and the parents/guardians to ensure safe conditions are maintained. CST's transport children to and from visits and appointments, in addition to other important coordinated activities. CST’s must be able to lift and carry items weighing approximately 50 pounds, and to perform physical work such as lifting and carrying children, car seats, and boxes. This position is located in theLewistonOffice.

  • Ensure all rules, policy, and processes are being followed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position. Please make sure your resume or work history supports your meeting the minimum qualifications for this position. Failure to do this may disqualify you from being considered for this position.

  • Good knowledge of home sanitation and safety. Typically gained by completion of a health or home economics course covering home sanitation and safety or home schooling or training covering home sanitation and safety.
  • Experience working with clients who may be behaviorally, socially, physically and/or mentally challenged. Typically gained by six months work experience in a hospital, nursing home, or similar environment, or as home healthcare provider, working with clients who are behaviorally, socially, physically, and/or mentally challenged.
  • Experience observing and recording clients' behaviors, treatment responses, and progress. Typically gained by six months work experience charting or tracking client information in a professional care setting or through employment as a home healthcare provider.
  • Ability to read and write English.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic.
  • Experience using ordinary home appliances and performing routine homemaking tasks. Typically gained by six months experience or completion of a home economics course.

A valid driver's license. Must be at least 21 years of age and meet eligibility requirements to drive a state vehicle.
