Job summary

TELUS Health is seeking a mathematically-driven Client Service Analyst II to join our DB Large Market team. This is not a typical admin role; it requires a high aptitude for complex pension calculations and navigating intricate financial data.

The role moves between internal calculations and client interactions on special projects. The ideal candidate has a math-focused degree and real-time calculation skills, with 1–3+ years of pension or benefits experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree with a concentration in Mathematics or Actuarial Science.
  • Proven ability to perform complex calculations in real-time.
  • A self-starter with a positive outlook and a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and flexible enough to float between different client projects as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to plan inquiries and requests from clients promptly and professionally
  • Assist in calculating and processing timely payment of termination, retirement, and death benefits for simple plans
  • Support the consulting team in fostering strong relationships with clients
  • Help coordinate information flow between clients and trustees. Assist in reconciling plan assets and plan memberships
  • Support the preparation of year-end pension statements
  • Assist with membership and asset data for actuarial valuations
  • Apply and interpret basic pension benefit calculations in accordance with plan provisions and legislative requirements
  • Work with pension databases to ensure data accuracy
  • Attend internal training sessions to stay updated on industry trends and topics
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations to add value
  • Assist with special projects as required to support team goals

Role Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the consulting team in fostering strong relationships with clients
  • Help coordinate information flow between clients and trusteesAssist in reconciling plan assets and plan memberships

  • Assist in preparing membership and asset data for actuarial valuations
  • Apply and interpret basic pension benefit calculations in accordance with plan provisions and legislative requirements

Required Qualifications

Salary Range: $60,000.00 - 67,000.00 USD Annual

Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience.
