Job summary

Disability Rights California (DRC) seeks an Assistant Clients’ Rights Advocate (ACRA) to support clients of regional centers. The role combines clerical duties with advocacy, documentation, and review of education, health care, and social services issues.

The position is hybrid (2 days in-office) with responsibilities across intake, data entry, and information sharing to protect the rights of people with disabilities. Prior related work is valued.

Qualifications

• MUST meet EACH minimum qualification to be considered for an interview.
• In-person work at Alhambra office minimum two days per week with the East Los Angeles Regional Center team.
• Strong communication, organization and collaboration skills are essential.
• Ability to manage materials, mail, and data entry for case files and reports.

Responsibilities

• Greet callers and provide initial response to requests for help.
• Coordinate meetings and conference calls.
• Process incoming and outgoing mail.
• Apply screening guidelines to identify problems and determine appropriateness of advocacy services.
• Provide information and referrals to individuals who do not qualify for representation or services.
• Process requests for materials and publications.
• Assist in client and caller interviews.
• Use electronic case management software to create case files and maintain accurate data.
• Collect data and generate reports.
• Assemble evidence packets for administrative hearings and other proceedings.

Education

Associate degree in a related field

Bachelor’s degree in a related field
