Job summary

Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC in Portsmouth, VA is seeking a Client Manager to develop and sustain trusted relationships with client organizations, ensuring renewal, retention, growth and profitability. You will coordinate with production and operations, oversee SLAs and budgets, conduct regular business reviews, and help translate client needs into actionable plans while maintaining high service quality.

Key qualifications include 3–5 years in operations or customer relations, a high school diploma

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in operations, customer service, customer relations, or related field.
• Willingness to travel to and from Company office and client locations, with after-hours events when necessary.
• Demonstrates accountability, judgement, and ability to influence operating costs and retention.
• Familiar with operational concepts and ability to identify and sell landscape enhancements.
• Excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication; business writing.
• Maintains confidentiality and professional demeanor.
• Highly organized with strong follow-up abilities and excellent computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintains relationship and direct communication with all levels of client organizations to ensure high quality and service expectations are met.
• Assists in developing and implementing account-specific vision, strategies, and creative solutions; monitors profitability and drives retention and growth of contract business.
• Acts as primary escalation responsibility for client concerns by proactively assisting in resolving issues with customer service when needed.
• Conducts regular business reviews with clients to assess expectations and performance across maintenance teams.
• Identifies, estimates and presents opportunities for new business and enhancements.
• Monitors the implementation of approved work orders (Irrigation, Mulch, Turf Care and Seasonal Color).
• Works with business development staff to achieve branch sales goals through referrals and generates opportunities within Client portfolios.
• Effectively manages and completes the client transition from the Sales Team to the Operations Team.
• Ensures familiarity with each job’s specifications and maintains solid communication plans.
• Provides client feedback to the Operations Team to facilitate change/corrective action.
• Partners with Project Management in organizing client requests and operational procedures on properties, and schedules regular meetings with Supervisors & Team members to communicate plans and ensure proper billing.
