Job description

The Client Partner, Strategic Growth is a senior, quota-carrying business development leader responsible for penetrating and scaling a defined portfolio of high-potential strategic targets and underpenetrated strategic growth accounts within North America or Europe. The role creates the next generation of Astrix strategic accounts by establishing executive access, securing lighthouse engagements, expanding across scientific domains, service lines, business units and geographies, and building a credible path toward $10M-$15M+ in annual account revenue. The ideal candidate will have significant industry presence and be able to leverage relationships to open new large logo Life Science clients for Astrix.

The role is focused on new-account acquisition, whitespace creation and accelerated account development. The role leads with the full Astrix portfolio across Laboratory Sciences; Clinical, Regulatory and Quality; Advisory Services; Application Services; and Expert Services.

The Client Partner, Strategic Growth, has a global remit for their assigned accounts. Account portfolios will generally be aligned based on global headquarters and the location of primary buying centers, but commercial accountability extends across all relevant geographies. The Client Partner, Strategic Growth is responsible for coordinating the global account strategy, developing relationships across regions, and positioning Astrix’s full-service portfolio wherever client opportunities are identified.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Own a named portfolio of strategic growth accounts and strategic targets, with responsibility for new-logo penetration, qualified pipeline creation, bookings, revenue growth and progression toward strategic-account status.
  • Develop and maintain a multi-year growth thesis and active 90-day pursuit plan for every assigned account, including stakeholders, buying centers, domain and service whitespace, geography, partners, competitive position and next actions.
  • Establish senior relationships across R&D, Clinical, Regulatory, Quality, Manufacturing, Laboratory Sciences, Data and Digital, and IT.
  • Create initial entry points in greenfield targets and convert early wins into broader, repeatable relationships across business units, sites, geographies and Astrix services.
  • Accelerate underpenetrated accounts from limited revenue toward $5M-$10M+ and ultimately $10M-$15M+ potential.
  • Position the full Astrix portfolio beyond the seller’s legacy domain comfort zone. Coverage must introduce Clinical, Regulatory, Quality, and Laboratory Sciences across Advisory and Applications Service businesses.
  • Operate as accountable commercial owner, maintain one account narrative, coordinated outreach and a consolidated pipeline and forecast.
  • Lead matrix pursuit teams across Client Solutions, Business Services, and Partnerships with explicit roles, decision rights and next actions.
  • Partner with the Head of Partnerships and Business Services leaders to improve access, credibility, joint offerings and partner-sourced pipeline.
  • Frame and qualify opportunities and coordinate differentiated proposals, SOWs, pricing, executive presentations and client-specific value propositions.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline, forecast, activity, relationship maps and opportunity data. Surface risk, slippage and investment needs early.
  • Meet or exceed targets for bookings, revenue, qualified pipeline, new logos, service-line penetration and account progression.
  • Represent Astrix in client meetings, industry forums, partner events and targeted market-development activities.
PORTFOLIO, ACCOUNTABILITY AND SUCCESS MEASURES
  • Portfolio: approximately four to six strategic targets and underpenetrated accounts, calibrated for maturity, revenue base, geographic complexity and growth burden.
  • Primary accountability: new-logo and whitespace pipeline, bookings, account revenue growth, domain and service expansion, executive relationship depth and account progression.
  • Pipeline expectation: maintain qualified coverage established by the CCO, with line of sight to annual bookings and revenue goals.
  • Account progression: advance targets into repeatable, multi-service relationships that justify strategic account status.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Ideally 12+ years of life-sciences consulting, technology-enabled services or related commercial experience, including creating new business in complex, multi-location organizations.
  • Proven history of penetrating large pharmaceutical or life-sciences organizations where the seller initially had limited or no revenue base.
  • Demonstrated ability to sell advisory, application, expert and/or technology-enabled consulting services
  • Experience building relationships with senior business, scientific, IT and functional decision makers.
  • Experience operating in a matrixed team-selling environment across geographies and services.
  • Global experience and familiarity with Clinical, Regulatory, Quality and Laboratory Sciences buying centers are strongly preferred.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Consultative selling and trusted-advisor skills that connect client priorities to outcomes.
  • Strategic-account prospecting, whitespace analysis, stakeholder mapping, qualification and pursuit planning.
  • Ability to position the full Astrix portfolio across Laboratory Sciences, Clinical, Regulatory and Quality domains within Advisory and Application Services
  • Ability to lead without direct authority and mobilize matrix resources around a shared pursuit plan.
  • Strong commercial judgment, forecast discipline, negotiation and executive communication.
  • Ability to balance regional market knowledge with global coordination.
  • High initiative, resilience, curiosity, organization skills and accountability.
