Data Solutions works with new customers to set up their data in Subscript and verify everything is correct!

Exciting update: We recently closed our Series A funding (more details here). It's an exciting and empowering time to join our Subbie team!

The basics

• The product: We're building a metrics-first finance and billing platform that helps B2B SaaS leaders invoice customers, tell their ARR story, and track revenue, all in one place—regardless of contract complexity.

The role you'll play

• You will be the first point of contact for new customers, assisting with complex data-intensive implementations. Your tasks include connecting source data, cleaning and validating data in Subscript, and performing analyses to maximize value.
• During each implementation, you'll work to ensure ARR metrics, invoices, and revenue data are accurate, referencing sources like CRMs (Hubspot, Salesforce), ledgers (Quickbooks, Xero), billing tools (Stripe, Maxio, Chargebee), and spreadsheets.

Tools you'll use

• Spreadsheets: Transform and validate customer data.
• Configuration JSON files: Define transformation rules for data ingestion.
• SQL: Understand internal data structures post-ingestion.
• Postman/APIs: Fetch and explore external data sources.
• Bonus: Python, for data fetching and transformation tasks, especially via Colab notebooks.

You will be the seventh member of the Data Solutions team, helping shape the role as we grow. You'll work closely with our founders, Sidharth Kakkar and Michelle Lee, who have a successful SaaS background. We're a small, rapidly growing company (under 30 employees), offering you significant influence in shaping our organization. You'll have autonomy to define and improve practices to support our customers and team. You'll work directly with clients and support your teammates with your insights.

Our way of working

• We operate asynchronously, avoiding scheduled internal meetings. Communication is primarily through written documentation, Slack, and video recordings. If you prefer to avoid pointless meetings, you'll love this!
• We work autonomously; everyone understands company goals and figures out how to contribute towards them.

Remote work

• This is a fully remote position. While internal communication is asynchronous, you'll need to work overlapping hours with clients in various regions, primarily US-Pacific hours.

Team culture

• We enjoy working together, including playing board games synchronously. We also gather multiple times a year for off-site team retreats, all expenses paid.

Interview process

We are transparent about our process, which focuses on your analytics intuition and communication skills. The process includes:

1. A spreadsheet task simulating customer data work.
2. A short live call to discuss your background and answer questions.
3. A SQL exercise with provided data and expected output.
4. Preparing for and leading a live customer call role-play.
5. A casual chat with a cofounder to get to know each other better.

Requirements

• Passion for data analysis, acting as a key strategic advisor to customers.
• Strong spreadsheet skills, experience requesting/reading JSON from APIs, and SQL mastery.
• Experience with B2B SaaS models, ability to work US-Pacific hours, and 5+ years relevant experience.

Preferred but not required

• Python skills
• Experience with SaaS finance ledgers (Quickbooks, Xero, Netsuite)
• CRM familiarity (Hubspot, Salesforce)
