This involves close collaboration with leaders and technologists, driving architectural decisions, data governance, and successful implementation of scalable data systems. The Data Architect will also play a critical role in operational support across the entire data environment, including managing data integrity, optimizing performance, and scaling solutions to meet evolving business needs. A remote work arrangement is available for this position.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Designing and developing scalable, efficient, and secure data architectures leveraging SQL Server, Azure services, and data fabrics.
  2. Implementing robust data models, including multidimensional modeling, to support complex business requirements and ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  3. Leveraging Azure services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse Analytics, and others to architect cloud-native data solutions.
  4. Designing and implementing ETL processes using SSIS and other relevant technologies to integrate data from various sources into the data architecture.
  5. Providing technical and operational oversight on database administration across the entire database environment, including architecture, configuration, monitoring, maintenance, tuning, and security.
  6. Collaborating with cross-functional teams including developers, data engineers, data analysts, and business stakeholders to understand requirements, define data architecture solutions, and drive successful implementations.
  7. Documenting data architecture designs, standards, and best practices, and providing guidance and support to ensure adherence across projects.
  8. Maintaining security compliance and adherence to ISO270001 certifications.
  9. Maintaining a knowledge base (Application Portfolio) including installation documentation, problem resolutions, vendor contact information, change logs, and other application information.
  10. Maintaining technical proficiency and industry knowledge through participating in technical and business-related training programs, seminars, and industry events.
  11. Participating in team efforts through regular team/project meetings.
  12. Performing other duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications:

  1. At least 7 years of IT experience with a minimum of 4 years as a Data Architect or similar role.
  2. Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
  3. Experience in AI and machine learning integration into data architecture.
  4. Proficiency in designing and implementing big data solutions.
  5. Advanced skills in data governance and quality management, especially in multi-cloud environments.
  6. Knowledge of modern data platforms, mesh and lakehouse architecture, and data fabrics.
  7. Understanding of AI-driven software development, including large language models and image generation technologies, including vector databases.
  8. Experience with data warehousing principles, approaches, technologies, and architectures.
  9. Expertise in complex SQL development and troubleshooting.
  10. Experience with ETL development using SSIS, Azure Data Factory, or similar tools.
  11. Knowledge of SQL Server environments (2016, 2019, 2022).
  12. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and flexibility for after-hours support.
  13. Strong organizational and communication skills.
  14. Ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies.
