Gross Mendelsohn, P.A. seeks an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Outsourced Accounting Services team in the Mid-Atlantic region. You will manage client accounting cycles, deliver timely financial statements, and act as a trusted partner for diverse nonprofit and for-profit clients.

You will lead month-end close, reconciliations, and compliance tasks, while mentoring junior staff and building lasting client relationships in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience managing monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
• Ability to prepare and review financial statements accurately.
• Experience with balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger activity.
• Maintaining audit-ready financial records and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes for assigned clients.
• Prepare and review financial statements for accuracy and timeliness.
• Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations and GL activity.
• Maintain audit-ready financial records and documentation.
• Serve as primary point of contact for assigned clients.
• Communicate financial results and insights clearly.
• Build strong, long-term client relationships.
• Review accounting transactions and ensure proper coding.
• Identify and implement process improvements.
• Support onboarding of new clients.
• Prepare and review 1099s, sales tax filings, and related compliance items.
• Support audit engagements and collaborate with tax teams.
• Train and mentor associates and interns.
• Review work and provide guidance.
