Gross Mendelsohn, a leading CPA and advisory firm in the Mid-Atlantic, seeks an experienced Senior Accountant for our Outsourced Accounting Services (OAS) group. You will manage close processes, prepare financial statements, and maintain audit-ready records while serving diverse nonprofit and business clients.

The role emphasizes client relationships, process improvements, and teamwork. CPA preferred and mentoring junior staff are part of the responsibilities; Hybrid work flexibility is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• 3–6+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• CPA preferred or in progress; public accounting background is a plus.
• Experience with month-end close and financial reporting.
• Experience with QuickBooks and Sage Intacct.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes for assigned clients.
• Prepare and review financial statements for accuracy and timeliness.
• Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger activity.
• Maintain audit-ready financial records and documentation.
• Serve as primary point of contact for assigned clients and communicate results clearly.
• Identify and implement process improvements in client accounting workflows.
• Prepare and review 1099s, sales tax filings, and related compliance items.
• Support audits and collaborate with tax teams as needed.
• Train and mentor associates and interns; provide guidance and leadership.

Gross Mendelsohn, one of the Mid-Atlantic’s leading independent CPA and advisory firms, is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing Outsourced Accounting Services (OAS) practice.This is a highly visible, client-facing role focused on serving a diverse portfolio of businesses and nonprofit organizations.
