Job summary

Gross Mendelsohn, one of the Mid-Atlantic’s leading independent CPA and advisory firms, is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join our growing Tax Department. This role is client-facing and leadership-focused, overseeing tax compliance, planning engagements, and mentoring staff.

You will manage complex federal and state returns, guide engagement teams, and build trusted relationships with closely held businesses, high-net-worth individuals, and growing middle-market clients in a hybrid office

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required; CPA preferred.
• Progressive tax experience in public accounting with client-facing leadership.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state tax compliance and planning.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review complex federal and state tax returns for various entities.
• Provide technical guidance on tax compliance and planning matters.
• Oversee engagement planning, scheduling, and staff mentoring.
• Develop tax strategies and manage client relationships and expectations.
• Stay current on tax law changes and contribute to client service growth.
