Job summary

Gulf Coast Bank & Trust Company in Covington, LA seeks a Certified Relationship Banker I to be the first-line contact for clients, assess needs, and promote products and services. You’ll grow relationships, handle inquiries, and resolve problems in a fast-paced branch setting.

Responsibilities include opening accounts, assisting with loans, and cross-selling; you will work evenings and weekends and comply with CIP/BSA and other regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong ability to educate and connect customers to technology.
• Excellent written and oral communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to tailor features and benefits of products/services to clients with differing needs.
• Computer skills and ability to operate office equipment.
• Professional, confident, thorough and organized with strong follow-up skills.

Responsibilities

• Sells Gulf Coast Bank products and services to current and new clientele.
• Opens new consumer and business accounts; provides information about services.
• Provides account information, handles maintenance, and monitors client accounts.
• Resolves client problems through direct action or referrals.
• Identifies cross-selling opportunities and coordinates with team for referrals.
• Adheres to security measures and regulatory requirements (CIP, BSA).
• Handles requests involving the Bank’s Legal department.
• Orders checks, operates teller terminal, and assists with vault/cash verification.
• Cross trains and supports other positions as needed.
• Makes branch opening/closing and other operational tasks; may assist with loan processing.
• Performs other duties as needed by Branch Manager or Operations Officer.
• Works branch hours, including some evenings and weekends.
• Maintains CRB skills by passing the annual CRB exam.
