Job summary

ConnectOne Bank Locust Valley, NY is seeking a Banking Relationship Specialist to acquire, retain, and expand banking relationships for business and consumer clients. You will cross-sell products, open new accounts, and educate clients on offerings while ensuring security and compliance in day-to-day operations.

You will support a People First culture, assist with teller functions, and help the branch meet sales and service objectives.

Qualifications

• Strong needs-based sales skills.
• One to three years bank platform sales and teller experience.
• Detailed understanding of federal banking compliance.
• Strong 'People First' mindset and ability.
• Ability to assess and meet customer needs.
• Effective teambuilding and interpersonal communication abilities.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Flexibility to support business needs.

Responsibilities

• Support the Bank's 'People First' culture and branch presence.
• Cross-sell the Bank's products and services in a consultative manner.
• Open accounts for deposit products and educate clients on offerings.
• Ensure compliance with operational, security and control procedures.
• Research and resolve customer service issues with ownership and follow-up.
• Assist other team members with transactions and branch operations.
• Handle service transactions (check re-orders, address changes, safe deposit access, wires).
• Serve as back-up to Branch Manager for operations and service tasks.
• Support Teller functions and branch opening/closing as needed.
• Contribute to achieving branch sales objectives and service targets.
• Participate in community events to promote the brand.
