Job summary

ConnectOne Bank in New York seeks a Banking Relationship Specialist to acquire, retain, and expand banking relationships for business and consumer clients. You will engage with clients in a consultative, People First environment and support branch operations.

You will cross-sell bank products, open deposit accounts, and ensure compliance with security and control procedures while delivering exceptional service and back-up support to leadership as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong needs-based sales skills.
• One to three years bank platform sales and teller experience.
• Detailed understanding of federal banking compliance and requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support the Bank’s “People First” focus and engagement—greet clients by name, maintain professionalism, reflect ConnectOne Bank standards, and be an active branch team member.
• Cross-sell products and services to acquire and grow relationships with business and consumer clients.
• Perform account openings and educate clients on products and services.
• Ensure all activities comply with operational, security and control procedures to prevent fraud.
• Handle customer service issues by researching, owning, and following up until resolution.
• Assist branch team with transactions, provide coaching to improve performance.
• Serve as primary back-up to Branch Manager for operations and service-related tasks.
• Assist with Teller functions and branch opening/closing as needed.
• Contribute to achieving branch sales objectives and maintain high service levels.
• Participate in community events to promote the brand.
