KBF Advisory is seeking a Controller to join our Managed Accounting Services team in Denver, CO. You will lead monthly closes for multiple client books, ensure GAAP compliance, and manage a team of accountants across KBF global offices.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in accounting (CPA preferred), strong MS Excel skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, client-facing environment. Hybrid schedule with in-office presence three days/week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
• CPA license strongly preferred.
• Previous work experience as a Controller or similar role.
• In-depth working knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• Ability to learn multiple accounting systems and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Advanced MS Excel skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Motivated, quick learner with strong communication and professionalism.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
• Must be available to work a hybrid schedule with three days per week in the Denver, CO office.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close for multiple clients.
• Oversee journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Perform cost accounting analysis and revenue recognition tasks.
• Collaborate with Bookkeepers and implement new tools and software.
• Develop detailed close plans and manage deadlines for client engagements.
• Provide client-focused service and manage relationships with a portfolio of clients.
• Coordinate with the Managed Accounting Services and Tax teams on technical questions and budgets.
• Identify improvements and KPI/dashboard enhancements for clients.
