Job summary

Buffalo Groupe seeks an experienced Controller to lead accounting operations, ensure financial integrity, and drive robust financial reporting. You will oversee all aspects of accounting—monthly closings, financial statements, internal controls, tax compliance, and FP&A—and partner with the finance leadership to set guardrails for growth.

Based in Charleston, SC or DC area, the role is remote/hybrid with occasional travel to local offices and possible travel to meet teams across the firm’s

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with at least 2–3 years in a Manager or Assistant Controller role.
• Public accounting (Big 4 or regional) experience preferred.
• Deep knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounting operations, including A/R, A/P, General Ledger, Payroll and Bank Reconciliations
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes to ensure GAAP-compliant reporting
• Prepare financial statements, variance analyses, and management reports for executive leadership
• Oversee cash flow management, treasury functions, and cash forecasting
