Job summary

The Misch Group is seeking an Employee Benefits CSR in California. This client-facing role requires advanced knowledge of benefit programs and HR processes, including underwriting, medical funding, and plan design options.

You will serve as the main liaison between clients and carriers, driving open enrollment and ongoing service. Responsibilities include onboarding new clients, renewals, RFPs, proposals, and compliance considerations.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years broker/HR benefits experience.
• Advanced knowledge of medical, dental, vision and ancillary benefits.
• Proficient understanding of ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, Section 125, 5500 requirements.
• Microsoft Office suite proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Familiar with Employee Navigator, HRIS systems; EDI with carriers a plus.
• Detail oriented, organized, urgent mindset; problem solver and communicator.
• Team player with ability to build rapport externally and internally.

Responsibilities

• Overall client lead for implementation, renewal, open enrollment and ongoing service.
• Onboard new clients with incumbent carriers for takeover information and paperwork.
• Lead renewal process with carriers; negotiate and present alternatives.
• Lead the RFP process; compare proposals and align with client objectives.
• Prepare and present proposals with recommendations, including HRA impact modeling.
• Assist with ACA/compliance modeling and penalties; stay ACA aware.
• Lead open enrollment meetings virtually or in-person.
• Manage eligibility using carrier portals and enrollment platforms.
• Stay current on vendor plans, industry trends and regulations.
• Follow client service workflows and escalate as needed.
• Develop relationships with coworkers, carriers, and partners.
• Provide backup support to team members as needed.
