Job summary

Green & Healthy Homes Initiative in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Client Intake Specialist to serve as the first point of contact for clients across Maryland programs. The role involves guiding clients through enrollment, collecting documents, and coordinating with Housing Intervention and Family Advocacy teams to ensure smooth service delivery.

Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM; this is a full-time exempt position with a salary range of $60,000–$65,000 annually and

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in public health, social work, business administration, human services, or other relevant field.
• 2+ years of experience in client engagement, customer service, and/or service coordination with diverse communities.
• Cultural competency and strong interpersonal skills for interacting with colleagues, clients, and program partners.
• Demonstrated ability to quickly build rapport with diverse communities.
• Empathy and patience in working with clients facing complex challenges.
• Experience in Environmental Health, Healthy Homes, Public Health.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to deliver information concisely and train others.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the guiding hand and main point person for clients through enrollment and application processes for Maryland programs.
• Maintain an internal tracking system of external resources and programs for Maryland.
• Facilitate connections to external programs and agencies to provide supplemental resources.
• Assist clients with application completion and documentation collection.
• Coordinate with Housing Intervention Team and Family Advocacy Team to schedule assessments and manage service delivery steps.
• Monitor client progress and provide ongoing guidance.
• Maintain relationships with state agencies, local health departments, community organizations, schools, and healthcare partners.
• Create internal communication plans to ensure client trust and timely updates.
