What does a Client Commercial Finance Director do at Hogarth?

The Client Commercial Finance Director is responsible for all client financial operations for the New York office. Reporting to the CFO, the Client Finance Director will partner with the Finance Director to manage the P&L, budget, and forecasting processes, while being solely responsible for client financial management. This includes collaborating with internal partners on the bid and estimate process, rate card development, billing, and reconciliation. The Client Finance Director may or may not have staff management responsibilities.

Reporting lines and key stakeholders

This role reports to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). You will work closely with account teams, finance teams, and Hogarth’s global offices.

Responsibilities

  1. Drive revenue growth by leading new initiatives from planning through implementation.
  2. Partner with account teams and clients in the development, review, and management of SOWs and fee structures.
  3. Ensure all stakeholders follow proper, documented processes for work development, bidding and estimating, fee approvals, billings, and reconciliations.
  4. Develop and maintain rate cards in accordance with industry standards, agency protocol, and market conditions.
  5. Review and create consistent working templates, including rate cards, WIP reports, estimating templates, and work orders.
  6. Analyze staff utilization, revenue forecasts, and actuals to ensure profitability.
  7. Continuously review financial processes to enhance profitability and improve effectiveness.
  8. Ensure timely and consistent completion of billing.
  9. Participate in monthly account reviews as a member of the core account leadership team.
  10. Ensure contractual compliance on all financial matters.
  11. Manage relationships with clients, agency partners, and Hogarth offices.
  12. Oversee and resolve financial issues, including WIP and accounts receivable.
  13. Collaborate with the Finance team on monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
  14. Advise internal agency partners and Hogarth offices on best practices regarding US financial management.
  15. Contribute to Hogarth Worldwide NY office culture by exhibiting ownership, professionalism, and leadership.

Qualifications include 7+ years of experience in a commercial or financial role, a Bachelor’s degree in Business or Finance (MBA preferred), extensive experience in Client Services, expertise in Client Finance, strong communication and leadership skills, and extensive analytical experience.
