GENERAL SUMMARY:

A unique opportunity exists to join a team in creating a vibrant senior learning community on the campus of Purchase College, State University of New York. The Fractional CFO provides high-level financial oversight and strategic guidance, working approximately 8 hours per week remotely. Key responsibilities include:

1. Developing investment strategies and cash management practices aligned with Board policies.
2. Informing the Executive Director and Board of financial positions and projections.
3. Supporting feasibility analyses and planning for expansion and capital projects.
4. Coordinating risk management and advising on insurance coverage.
5. Attending quarterly Board meetings, monthly Finance Committee, and investment strategy meetings to provide insights.
6. Performing other duties as assigned.

Functional Competencies

• Minimum ten years of executive-level financial management experience.
• CPA certification required.
• Experience in retirement communities, healthcare, or higher education is a plus.
• Experience working with non-profit boards is a plus.
• Knowledge of accounting systems (A/P, payroll, billing, general ledger).
• Understanding of GAAP, laws, regulations, and guidelines.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
