Job summary

Rancho Village Veterinary Hospital in La Mesa, CA is seeking an experienced Care Coordinator to join our team. This role blends administrative duties with frontline client service to support the hospital’s operations and pet care delivery.

Ideal candidates will have 1–2 years of customer service experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to work flexible hours including some weekends/holidays; familiarity with practice management software is a plus.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of strong customer service experience.
• High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Knowledge of clerical procedures, record keeping, and organizational skills.
• Must be flexible with scheduling and able to work some weekends and holidays.
• Prolonged keyboard work and standing/walking; some heavy lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service in person, on the phone, and in high-stress situations.
• Manage lobby flow, address concerns, schedule appointments.
• Assist with basic medical emergencies for pets and their owners, ensuring safety.
• Assist with medication pickups, inquiries, and information about services/products.
• Enter and manage data in practice management software, including billing and accounts.
• Assist with retail sales, weighing pets, processing faxes, and maintaining records.
• Reconcile cash drawer and perform end-of-day duties for accurate transactions.
