Qualifications

• Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in NY at hire or within 3 months
• At least 1 year in social services, counseling, crisis intervention, housing or homeless services preferred
• Ability to work with diverse cultures and ethnicities
• Expertise in strengths-based and solution-focused practice
• Experience facilitating groups for adults
• Proficiency in Spanish and/or French a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and MS Office literacy

Responsibilities

• Complete a comprehensive bio-psychosocial assessment for each client
• Provide clear written assessment reports and recommendations
• Assist homeless clients navigating multiple systems and stressors
• Provide outreach, crisis intervention, risk assessment, safety planning
• Prioritize and conduct visits to high-risk in-shelter clients for safety planning
• Prepare clients to accept services
• Collaborate with ACS or prevention services and advocate for clients
• Facilitate referrals and link clients to mental health providers and agencies
• Serve as liaison with government agencies and community partners
• Improve access to services via in-person or telehealth
• Document services in CARES and compile internal reports
• Participate in professional development and DHS trainings
• Perform other duties as assigned
