Job summary

Olsen Thielen & Co., Ltd. is seeking an experienced Accountant to join the Client Advisory Services (CAS) team in the Twin Cities. You will manage month-end statements, payroll, and client consulting needs, with remote flexibility and periodic client-site visits.

You will work under a Manager/Principal, ensuring accurate financial reporting, training, and secure handling of client data. The role offers a salary range of $65,000–$75,000 with comprehensive benefits and potential bonuses.

Qualifications

Associate or BA/BS degree in Accounting with 5+ years of public accounting experience preferred.
Proficiency in cloud-based accounting systems such as QuickBooks Online, Bill.com, and Sage Intacct.
Experience with Excel advanced functions, Power Query and Power BI is a plus.
Curiosity to learn AI-enabled tools, automation and analytics to improve client service and efficiency.
Strong understanding of GAAP principles and bookkeeping practices.
Excellent organization, time-management and communication skills.
Authorized to work in the United States and willing to travel locally in the Twin Cities metro.

Responsibilities

Independently manage month-end financial statements, reconciliations, forecasts/budgets, and client consulting needs.
Report to Manager or Principal overseeing client relationships and service delivery.
Provide training, address bookkeeping needs, and resolve accounting challenges for clients.
Lead payroll preparation, review processes, accounts payable, and tax documentation.
Prepare and file payroll forms (940, 941, 944) and annual reporting (W-2, 1099, etc.).
Enter payroll data into the payroll provider platform with accuracy.
Document internal processes, support training initiatives, and promote knowledge sharing.
Protect confidential client information and follow secure accounting practices.
