Job summary

TSS Advisors is seeking a talented Client Accountant to lead day-to-day client accounting delivery. You will manage a portfolio of clients within our multi-client practice, close books monthly and quarterly, and ensure accurate financial statements.

As a hands-on supervisor, you will review colleagues’ work, foster strong client relationships, and drive process improvements while partnering with Ascend resources to enhance service delivery.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of client accounting, bookkeeping, or outsourced accounting experience in a public accounting or multi-client environment.
• Prior experience supervising, reviewing, or training accounting staff is a plus.
• Working knowledge of GAAP as applied to closely held businesses.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly and quarterly close for a portfolio of clients, including bank and credit card reconciliations, accruals, fixed assets, and journal entries.
• Prepare and review compiled financial statements and management reporting packages.
• Review payroll processing, sales and use tax filings, and 1099 reporting prepared by the team.
• Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for client owners, controllers, and office staff.
• Lead onboarding for new client accounting engagements, including chart of accounts design, software conversion, and documentation of recurring procedures.
• Coordinate with the tax team to deliver clean year-end books and supporting workpapers.
• Identify and implement process and technology improvements that reduce manual work across the client base.
