Renhill Group is seeking flexible, compassionate individuals to join Cleveland Heights-University Heights City Schools as non-degreed substitute teachers for the 2026-2027 year. Roles are part-time, on-call, with a $140 per day rate and immediate starting date in University Heights, OH.

Training is provided and licensing assistance is offered by Renhill Group. Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, pass BCI & FBI background checks, and enroll in STRS with a 14% employer match.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent is required.
• Background checks (BCI & FBI) must be dated within the past 12 months and on file with the Ohio Department of Education.
• Substitute Teaching License or copy of Teaching License; Renhill will assist with obtaining the license.
• Cost to obtain a substitute license is $25, paid to the Ohio Department of Education.
• Enrollment in STRS with 14% employer match; wellness and basic disability/medical benefits offered.

Renhill Group is currently looking for flexible, compassionate individuals who are committed to student learning and success to work on a substitute (part-time, on-call) basis as a teacher atCleveland Heights-University Heights Schools for the 2026-2027school year.

Substitute Teachers play a vital role in the educational process. They are responsible for creating and maintaining a classroom environment that is effective, safe, and conducive to learning and have the unique ability to teach with a rapidly changing classroom population of various skills and progress levels. Adaptability is key!

No formal teaching experience? No problem. Renhill Group's online training courses designed by current and former school district administrators will give you the knowledge and confidence you need to ensure your success in the classroom.

Requirements:

• High school degree/equivalent
• BCI & FBI background checks
  • Dated within the past 12 months
  • On file with the Ohio Department of Education
  • Can be conducted by Renhill Group for one of the area’s lowest rates ($55), if you do not already have them. Call to make an appointment.
• Substitute Teaching License or copy of Teaching License
  • Renhill Group will assist you in obtaining your substitute license if needed
  • Cost to obtain a substitute license is $25 and payment is made directly to the Ohio Department of Education

*Please note: Non-degreed substitute positions are not available in every district and are only available for the duration of the 2026-2027 school year. There could also be additional district-specific requirements for this position.
