Job summary

University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School is seeking a Clerkship Education Coordinator to oversee administrative functions for medical student rotations and residency programs within the department. You will liaise among program directors, students, UME staff, and affiliated sites to ensure smooth operations.

You will coordinate rotations, manage evaluations, credentialing, and curriculum support, while contributing to program accreditation and data reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 1 year of related experience in a health care setting.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office programs.
• Knowledge of ACGME requirements for approved residency training programs desired.
• Demonstrated project management skills.
• Demonstrated experience in setting priorities, delegation of duties and independent decision making.
• Knowledge of developing evaluation instruments and monitoring evaluation process.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Primary liaison between the Clerkship Program Director, medical students and UME Faculty with the UME and departments.
• Primary liaison between the Student Clerkship Director, Medical Students, UMMS Office of Medical Education, affiliated teaching hospitals and community physician practices.
• Coordinates and administers personnel and regulatory procedures for incoming, continuing and graduating medical students in their rotations.
• Schedules clerkship rotations for UMMS and visiting medical students and manages the clerkship evaluation process.
• Assist in design of resident and program evaluation systems; manage confidential evaluations of faculty and the educational program.
• Process graduate credentialing materials.
• Participate in the design and development of curriculum, course materials, and student resources.
• Coordinate conferences, grand rounds, outside guest speakers and other didactic events; maintain attendance reports.
• Manage administrative duties relative to the medical student rotation and ensure completion of application materials and confidential files.
• Assist in design of and maintain the clerkship program web site.
• Work with clerkship directors to develop goals and policies; implement operational plans to meet objectives.
• Manage program budget and expenditures.
• May supervise secretarial staff supporting the departments educational programs.
• Coordinate with the Program Director on rotation schedules and accreditation documentation.
