California Department of Industrial Relations in Los Angeles seeks a clerical support specialist for the Retaliation Complaint Investigation (RCI) program to provide intake, data entry, docketing, and correspondence duties.
This role requires precise data handling in CalAtlas (Salesforce) and IMIS, strong customer service, and bilingual Spanish preferred. On-site position with standard office hours.
Under the direction of a Deputy Labor Commissioner Supervisor or designee, the incumbent performs a wide variety of clerical duties within the Retaliation Complaint Investigation (RCI) program to provide timely and accurate support to the program. In addition to overall clerical operations, the incumbent is responsible for intake and data entry of all retaliation claims received via referral from state of federal agencies, online submission, email, telephone, mail or in person and for the input of case information into the CalAtlas (Salesforce) and the federal IMIS database. The incumbent is also responsible for docketing cases, scanning and uploading documents, processing letters of rejections, following up on requested information and documents from parties, editing and mailing out decisions to parties, and handling appeal notices.
The incumbent will also answer telephone inquiries to the RCI unit, including accepting retaliation complaints by phone, monitoring and responding to inquiries from the RCI email inbox, and performing Public Information Duty (PID) by assisting the public at the counter. In addition, they will open and process all incoming/outgoing mail, prepare letters, statistical reports and respond to correspondence from parties; maintain, close and purge all case files based on document requirements as well as assist with handling Public Records Act (PRA) requests and the ordering of supplies.
This is a bilingual preferred position in Spanish. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to take the bilingual exam to obtain bilingual status and pay.

This position is located in Los Angeles. The employee will spend most of the time working at their assigned District office. Their work area will be a cubicle equipped with standard office equipment. Overtime and occasional travel to an off-site location may be required for meetings and/or training. Employees are expected to be able to work independently, in a fast-paced team environment, and work well with the public and co-workers.
