THE POSITION

The Department of Environmental Protection is searching for a limited term, full time Clerical Assistant 2 who will provide clerical support in the Northeast Regional Office in Wilkes-Barre, PA. The duties of this position are to identify differences in report types to bundle records appropriately, working towards meeting the Agency File Plan Records Retention and Disposition Schedule.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The successful candidate in this position will retrieve documents from filing locations while sorting appropriately in preparation for scanning. Operates the regional high-speed scanner to upload documents into the DEP's OnBase Document Management System. The Clerical Assistant 2 in this position must be able to work independently to identify and sort inspection records, cleanup records, legal records, and records which can be discarded, as described within the Agency File Plan Records Retention and Disposition Schedule.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Nine (9) month limited-term, full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting hourly rate of $18.05 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
