Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is hiring a Data Center Engineering Technician to safeguard mission-critical infrastructure across AWS data centers.

You will monitor 24/7 operations, troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems, and coordinate with vendors and contractors to keep uptime targets intact. The role requires hands-on work with generators, switchgear, UPS, PDUs, CRAC, chillers and cooling systems, with shifts that can be 12 hours and may rotate.

Qualifications

2+ years of data center engineering experience.
Work flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment for 24/7 reliability.
Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and EPMS.
Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within SLAs.
Perform rack installs and decommissioning within SLAs.
PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
Technical writing to support change management.
Monitor daily work requests and manage to resolution, and execute projects from conception to completion.
On-site support of contractors, sub-contractors and vendors ensuring work follows practices and local legislation.
Shift changes; up to 12 hours; rotation; some locations have on-call rotations.
Role may support more than one location/site.
