Cleanroom Technician – 2nd Shift

Avantor is seeking a Cleanroom Technician for 2nd shift to work under close supervision, performing a variety of functions including fabrication, assembly or testing in the production of electrical, mechanical, or other components/devices manufactured or assembled in a clean-room environment.

Shift Hours

2nd shift – M-F 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM

Job Responsibilities

• Assist in setting up work stations and follow written or verbal process specifications in completing all assignments.
• Operate appropriate equipment for fabrication, assembly, testing, weighing and filling chemicals or bulk products in accordance with Production Work Order (PWO).
• Operate production scales, including verifications and calibrations.
• Set up, operate, clean and maintain equipment such as automatic heat sealer, electronic floor scale, pumps, crusher, auger filling units, autoclave units, vibrating filler units, induction sealing equipment, portable exhaust hood, and other equipment as required.
• Follow cleanroom protocols and cGMPs to maintain ISO Class 7 environment.
• Package finished product for shipping (boxing, labeling) per Work Instructions.
• Handle hazardous materials using all appropriate or mandatory safety gear.
• Sweep and mop floors and clean workstation after each product filling.
• Complete documentation in a legible manner, verify and review for accuracy.
• Maintain expected quality and quantity of work.
• Follow cGMP policies and procedures for handling, storage, packing, manufacturing and distributing products.
• Support co‑workers in their job responsibilities and act as a team player.
• Participate actively in the continuous improvement process and follow appropriate change control procedures.
• Instill a “build it right the first time” mentality.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

• High School completion or equivalent (GED) with 0-2 years equivalent experience in production in a cleanroom environment.
• Experience working in a cleanroom environment.
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Perform duties with the highest regard for safety and quality.
• Ability to be trained on and adhere to all cleanroom protocols.
• Ability to understand and follow site protocols, policies and procedures.
• Must be flexible, forward‑thinking, motivated, and have the ability to act independently.
• Must be able to lift 50lbs minimum.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office with proficiency in Word and Excel.
• Problem‑solving skills.

Working Conditions

The work environment is a production/clean room with adequate lighting and ventilation, normal temperature and noise level. The associate is required to stand and walk for the majority of the working day. Physical requirements include speaking, hearing, bending/stooping, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching above shoulder height, crouching, kneeling, balancing, and pushing/pulling. The job requires lifting/carrying/pushing or pulling up to 50 pounds with or without assistance. Both hands are used for repetitive actions such as grasping and manipulating, and both feet for repetitive movement operating foot controls. Specific vision abilities include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
