Avantor is seeking a 1st shift Solvent Set-up Operator to assemble mechanical units and sub-assemblies, and to operate semi-automated and automated manufacturing equipment. The role involves weighing and mixing chemical materials, ensuring batch quality, and maintaining safety and documentation practices.
You will monitor processes, read simple records and train peers as needed in a cGMP environment. This is a day shift position within our facility, focusing on precision and efficiency.
Avantor is looking for a 1st shift Solvent Set-up Operator. The Operator will work under moderate supervision, assemble mechanical units or fabricated parts to make sub-assemblies or complete products within routine and repetitive assembly operations. Use various hand and power tools and operates equipment which may include jigs, dies, fixtures, templates, punch presses, riveting machines, circular shears, and drill presses in order to cut, file, fit, punch, ream, rivet, form, and/or assemble. Fit, align, calibrate, and adjust parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product requirements. Monitor quality of products and raw materials. May read simple blueprints. Perform simple routine maintenance and cleaning. Determine and corrects minor machine malfunctions. May train less experienced peers.
Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, dust or gases. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Required to stand and walk for a large part of the working day. Physical requirements include talking, hearing, bending/stooping, squatting, reaching above shoulder height, crouching, kneeling, balancing and pushing/pulling. Also requires some lifting/carrying/pushing or pulling up to 50 pounds with or without assistance. Use of both hands for repetitive actions such as grasping and manipulating. Specific vision abilities include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
