Block by Block is hiring a Cleaning Ambassador in Baltimore to keep streets and public spaces clean and welcoming. This part-time role offers weekly pay and pay advance, plus uniforms and benefits. You will greet pedestrians, assist with directions, remove litter, and report on daily tasks using basic English communication.

The position is ideal for reliable individuals who enjoy outdoor work, with weekend and Monday shifts. No previous experience required; training provided.

Responsibilities

• This role will provide a high level of visibility at street level to carry out cleaning tasks in the assigned zone.
• Acknowledge and engage pedestrians with a friendly greeting and provide directions or city information.
• Remove litter from streets/sidewalks and alleys, including graffiti and posters from light posts and trash cans.
• Pull weeds at tree wells, cracks in sidewalks, and vacant lots.
• Damp wipe and straighten outdoor surfaces such as trash can lids and news boxes.
• Report daily task completion using basic English communication and two-way radios for safety.

Pay Range: $16.00 to $16.00 per hour (Weekly Pay & Pay Advance Before Payday!)

What You'll Be Doing :

• This role will provide a high level of visibility at the street level to carry out a wide variety of cleaning tasks in the zone assigned. Must maintain a positive, professional demeanor at all times.
• Actively acknowledge and engage pedestrians and visitors with a friendly greeting/smile in order to provide directions and/or city information.
• Litter removal — While moving through the zone with a rolling trash can that has supplies/tools, remove litter: fast food bags, cups, soda cans, cigarette butts, and other debris on the streets/sidewalks and alleys. Remove graffiti and posters from light posts, trash cans, news boxes, etc.
• Pull weeds that grow at the base of tree wells, in cracks in the sidewalks, and vacant lots.
• Damp wipe and straighten outdoor surfaces, such as trash can lids, news boxes, etc.
• Be watchful for unwanted behaviors or criminal activity and report to the Safety Ambassadors via two-way radios. Must be able to complete basic daily reports of tasks completed, which requires being proficient in speaking, reading, and writing the English language.
