Job summary

GY Properties is seeking a reliable Apartment/Facilities Cleaner to maintain the cleanliness and appearance of residential communities. You will clean common areas, the leasing office, and prepare vacant units during turn and make-ready periods.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize common areas including lobbies, hallways, stairwells, elevators, laundry rooms, community rooms, gyms, rooftop decks, and restrooms.
  • Maintain the leasing office by cleaning floors, surfaces, windows, and restrooms.
  • Prepare vacant units for new residents by deep cleaning kitchens, bathrooms, floors, windows, and appliances.
  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum all flooring types throughout the property.
  • Empty trash bins and replace liners across all areas.
  • Sanitize high-touch surfaces such as door handles, light switches, and railings.
  • Wipe down entry doors, mailbox areas, and glass surfaces.
  • Restock restroom and cleaning supplies; report when new supplies are needed.
  • Perform routine inspections to ensure cleanliness and report maintenance issues.
  • Dust baseboards, vents, window sills, blinds, and ceiling fans.
  • Spot-clean walls, doors, and furniture as needed.
  • Clean behind large fixtures and disinfect trash bins.
  • Maintain outdoor areas by picking up debris, sweeping walkways, and cleaning outdoor furniture.

POSITION SUMMARY We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Apartment/ Facilities Cleaner to maintain the cleanliness and appearance of our residential apartment communities. This role is essential in creating a welcoming and sanitary environment for residents, staff, and visitors. The Facilities Cleaner will be responsible for cleaning all common areas, the leasing office, and preparing vacant units for new residents during turn and make-ready periods.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Clean and sanitize common areas including lobbies, hallways, stairwells, elevators, laundry rooms, community rooms, gyms, rooftop decks, and restrooms.
  • Maintain the leasing office by cleaning floors, surfaces, windows, and restrooms.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to meet all regulatory and compliance standards for employment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.

  • Effective communication with all stakeholders, including employees, management, tenants and other departments.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background screening (and effective June 1, 2026 a pre-employment drug screening).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Mobility to move around the property, including moderate to prolonged periods of walking, climbing stairs, ramps, or stepladders, bending, crouching, kneeling, crawling in performance of assigned duties.
  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling materials and objects up to 75 pounds.
  • Seeing to perform visual inspections of property assets, identify cleanliness issues, read labels and instructions, and ensure safety and quality standards are met.
  • Hearing to respond to verbal instructions, communicate with residents and staff, and recognize important sounds such as alarms, equipment alerts, or unusual noises.
SALARY AND BENEFITS

The compensation for this position ranges from $16 -19/hour commensurate with qualifications and experience. This full-time position is not exempt from overtime pay under federal and state wage and hour laws, which means that it is eligible for overtime time pay for hours worked in excess of 40 in a given workweek.
