Job summary

Thorlabs in Newton, NJ is seeking an Assembly Technician for our 3000 sqft cleanroom in the Mechanics Business Unit. You will assemble components and serve as the final quality check on assembled products.

Follow written work Instructions, wear cleanroom PPE, maintain high quality standards, and work well in a team to meet production schedules. Role may require duties at other Thorlabs locations from time to time.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar position preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work well in a group atmosphere and follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assemble components and products of varying size and complexity, including cleaning, inspecting, and testing.
• Follow written work instructions and meet the production schedule.
• Move material to and from work areas and set up or calibrate equipment when needed.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures and PPE.
• Be a great teammate by asking/answering questions when instructions are unclear.
