Job summary

Thorlabs is seeking a manufacturing team member to assist in producing photonics components at our Newton, NJ facility. You will handle kitting, load/unload optical equipment, perform basic measurements, and help maintain machines with a focus on quality and safety.

Minimum 1 year of manufacturing experience or related technical education is required. High School Diploma or equivalent and basic computer skills (MS Office) are also expected. Some duties may occur at other Thorlabs locations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing experience or related technical education.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and comply with high quality standards.
• Good work ethic and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to shift between tasks to address changing production priorities.
• Basic math knowledge and familiarity with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain machines in a production area with standard processes.
• Prepare raw materials and perform loading/unloading for processing.
• Perform daily maintenance and setup of assigned equipment.
• Measure parts using metrology devices and ensure quality with minimal scrap.
• Maintain records in Manufacturing Database and follow safety rules.
• Assist in continuous improvement initiatives and adhere to company policies.
