Job summary

Boston Public Schools is seeking a Paraprofessional to support teachers and help deliver a high quality education program designed to meet students' needs across classrooms.

You will assist in direct instruction, prepare instructional materials, manage behavior, supervise field trips, set up and clean up, and perform related duties as requested by the Head of School. Salaries are determined by union contracts and Grade/Step, with hours varying by site.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• 48 college credits or an Associate's Degree, or a passing score on ParaPro or WorkKeys.
• Minimum of two years experience working with young children.
• Current authorization to work in the United States by first day of employment.

Responsibilities

• Supports direct instruction to children individually, in small groups, and in classroom settings.
• Provides assistance with classroom activities.
• Prepares instructional materials.
• Assists in classroom set up and clean up.
• Manages individual and classroom behavior, using prescribed approaches.
• Supervises students on field trip activities.
• Performs other related duties as requested by Head of School/Principal.
